Art Wynwood 2015
February 12, 2015 - February 16, 2015
Featuring works by Colombian contemporary artists Carlos Alarcon, Mario Arroyave, Carolina Convers, Anibal Gomescasseres, Max Steven Grossman and Daniela Mejia.
Latin American and Colombian art have recently come into world focus. The international community has been discovering an exciting universe of ideas and cultures that for years had been a hidden treasure of artistic expressions. Suddenly today they are at the forefront of global collections, art fairs, museums and galleries. Colombia has flourished and is the focus of international investors in all fields including art. The artists presented at this fair are all young Colombian artists using a wide range of techniques from traditional painting to photography, video, transfer and light boxes.
Beatriz Esguerra Art has curated its Art Wynwood presentation around the theme of “Water.” Each of the artists presented is consciously or unconsciously composing their works around this precious liquid. Earth is water, humans are water, we need water to survive in this world and as population grows, we are consuming it and destroying its sources. This exhibit does not intend to comment on today’s issue of water conservation, but it does look to remind the viewers how important it is in our lives and how many times we take it for granted.
