CONTEXT Art Miami 2014
December 02, 2014 - December 07, 2014
Featuring works by Iranian born American artist Hadi Tabatabai and Colombian artists Max Steven Grossman, Santiago Montoya, Pedro Ruiz, Santiago Uribe-Holguin, Carol Young and Elsa Zambrano
Through a rich and coherent dialogue between multiple Colombian artists, an Iranian and a Uruguayan artist, Beatriz Esguerra Art will present works ranging across a variety of themes and mediums, encompassing photography, threads, wax, ceramics, sand, oils and found objects. While considered established and mid-career artists within Colombia, they are amongst the cutting-edge emerging artists that have raised interest amongst international curators and collectors, making Colombia a new artistic destination. Conception, artistry, and playful creativity unite the seven artists presented by Beatriz Esguerra Art in CONTEXT’s third edition of the fair. Beatriz Esguerra Art has designed a carefully curated combination of unique motives and perspectives that will give collectors, curators, dealers, artists, and other viewers a glimpse of the artistic talent and production that has become prominent in Colombia.
Beatriz Esguerra Art will host an informal lecture during the fair with artist Santiago Montoya and Harvard University curator, José Falconi. The topic will be Santiago Montoya's work and his questions on the roll of money, power and politics in today's society.
