Teresa Currea

Teresa Currea’s delicate creations are a result of pencils, ink, and watercolor on carefully cut out paper. Placed within transparent acrylic boxes, these two-dimensional drawings erect multidimensional environments akin to allegorical, almost childlike, and impossible worlds. A graduate of the National University of Colombia’s esteemed Visual Arts program, Currea has devoted her craft to drawing, etching and engraving, yet has not limited herself to these techniques, exploring that of ceramic and including it in her works. In 2015, she completed the Shiro Oni Studio Art Residency, where a deep immersion in Japanese culture reinforced her focus upon the importance of the process in her artistic practice.
